8 Tips For A Better Night’s Sleep

There’s something about summer nights that makes it impossible to sleep. The intense heat of the day has finally died out, restaurants are open later, it stays light out into the night… sleeping just doesn’t seem like an option. But sleep is a funny thing… something we dreaded as kids when the first of the fireflies popped out, something we crave when we hit snooze on the alarm seventeen times the next morning, and something we all desperately need. As a nester, I strive to make my sleep environment and my attitude towards resting as peaceful as possible. Check out some ideas I’ve had recently to allow myself a better night’s sleep!

I work retail, so after an eight-hour shift on my feet, I want nothing more than to just sink into a warm tub and let everything relax — my muscles, my joints, my mind. Summer is about relaxation, right? And with a peaceful mind and body, you’ll be much more willing and able to drift off to sleep! Add in some homemade remedies to make your bath even more enjoyable and relaxing. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oils, or try making a salt detox bath. My personal favorite is a DIY bubble bath  — this particular recipe allows for you to add your favorite essential oils!
